01/07/2006: Annual General Meeting

The club has announced that its Annual General Meeting will be help on Saturday the 1st of July at 2pm in the club house. It is imperative that all members attend this meeting.

18/03/2006: Vets team for the first time ever!!

On Saturday 18th March 2006 the club fielded an official veterans team for the first time in the clubs history. Players who have represented the club over the past four decades assembled to have a game against Aldwinians. This was a tremendous achievement and our thanks must go to John Doohan for organising the fixture. It represents another major step forward in the building of North Manchester RUFC community. Players who no longer wish to play regularly due to the intervention of Old Father Time can still turn out for the club and enjoy a pint in the bar afterwards. It is intended that we will have 3 or 4 veterans fixtures per season. There will be one more this season but details are yet to be finalised. Contact John Doohan on 07713 642647 for more details.Click here for Photos

11/02/2006: Club Shirts, Ties and a New Kit

Kit sponsor, ETC Communications and Cllr Mark Hackett turned out on a cold winter afternoon to to present the new kit. The full squad turned out for the occasion which was captured on film for the record books. Most playing members of the club were present and everybody was either in a club shirt and tie or kit. We have come a long way in a short time. Onward and upward!

01/02/06: New Kit is Ready

The new first team kit is ready. It will be worn for the first time on the 11th February for our home game against Bury. There will be a photo-shoot at 12:30pm for all the club. As well as 20 kit wearers we require all club members and friends to attend. If you have a club shirt and tie then please can you wear it. The Middleton Guardian and JW Lees in-house magazine will be there to record the occasion. Once again Tony Donley (ETC) and JW Lees must be thanked for the sponsorship

06/01/06: Second Team Captain Appointed

Gordon Morrison has been appointed as 2nd XV captain. Gordon's enthusiasm and dedication to the club is an example to us all. His appointment is sure to bring stability to a rapidly growing squad. The formation of regular 2nd team so early in the season is a huge step foward for the club and is an essential part of the clubs development.

11/11/05: New Kit

A big thanks to Tony Donley. Tonys company, ETC Communications, has just given the go-ahead to buy a new kit. This should be with us shortly after Christmas. Thanks must be given to Gopal Malhotra for his fine organisational skills to make this happen.

11/11/05: 2nd XV

Our intention was to try and get a 2nd team out at least once per month this season. We have exceeded our expectations. Already this year we have fielded two teams on 6 occasions. This is in no small part due to the efforts of Dave Aubrey. Dave would appreciate as much help as possible for the rest of the season. There is a lot of effort needed to organise a team and all help is necessary. During the coming weeks we are hoping to establish a formal structure for the team organisation and will be looking for a backroom team of 3 or 4 people. This will be to help with the picking of team, organising fixtures, kit, referees etc. If you are interested please let Dave Aubrey know.

11/11/05: Facility upgrade

As you probably noticed the Club facilities are improving. The new layout of the lounge will enable us to have even bigger and better functions. The 4 electric showers are to be replaced with 12 shiny, new ones fed from a brand new, state of the art combi-boiler. The lounge will be finished before the end of November and showers should be ready early in the New Year.

11/11/05: Club shirts and ties

If you look good, you feel good. Its time to feel good. We are organising some new and very smart attire that should be available before Christmas. A great present idea - tell your loved one. A shirt and tie combo will be available at the unbelievably low price of £20. Order yours early to avoid disappointment.
