North’s 2nd XV travelled the Heaton Moore where the snow had melted enough for the game to be played. James Hyland, Scott Danby and Paul Gaynord all went over to give North a healthy early lead. North played some great running rugby with Darren Seddon, Jay Malone and Sam Walsh leading the way in the forwards. Heaton Moore were also an very open team and played rugby in the right way and they hit back with 3 converted tries of their own to level the scores at 21-21 at half-time.

North then ran away with the game in the second half. Try scoring sensation Kyle Howard scored 3 well worked tries which highlighted his pace and power and give North a 42-21 lead. North’s backline were on fire and Paul Gaynord, Matt Saxon and Rob Maguire were all having excellent games. Once again Moore came back into the game but some excellent defence by Steve Atkinson and James Englebert kept the home side out. Rob Maguire was awarded the ETC Communications man of the match award for superb display from scrum-half.
